WHAT IS COMPOSITE CONSTRUCTION?
Composite Construction uses two primary ingredients: Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) and engineered Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete (GFRC). The combination of EPS and GFRC and the simplicity of their application make this an ideal system for both site-built and factory construction and is superior in virtually every way to traditional construction methods. EDGE's composite construction system has been researched and tested in all facets of the public and private sectors and is available for both residential and commercial construction.
WHAT IS THE BUILDING METHODOLOGY?
Walls, floors, and ceilings are custom cut from 6 to 24 inch-thick high-density EPS panels that are erected on a standard footer.
Wall panels are bonded together with "space-age" glue and coated with GFRC, creating an exceptionally strong bond. This technique vastly reduces material and labor expenses and contributes to EDGE's focus of sustainability and environmentally responsible design.
